Jennifer Abrahamson

Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate

My clients experience a variety of struggles including, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, body image difficulties, and work stress. I work from a person-centered, trauma-informed approach with an emphasis on self-compassion and employ modalities such as ACT, CBT, and DBT. We will collaborate to find strategies that are the most effective for you.

I have a passion for working with individuals with various disabilities, particularly those with hearing loss, and their families. I recognize that coming to terms with a diagnosis of a disability can be difficult for you and your family members. I am also working to increase my knowledge in counselling individuals with chronic conditions such as pain and fatigue.

Originally from British Columbia, I made my home in Nova Scotia in 2015. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I am a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
