What to expect at your first visit:

At your initial visit, your Naturopathic Doctor will go through your chief medical concerns as well your entire medical history, including your medications, supplements/natural health products, diet, digestion, sleep, stress, exercise, mood/mental health, etc. Often times there may be some routine physical exams and orthopaedic assessments performed in order to get a full assessment of your main health concerns. Usually, you will receive treatment recommendations at the end of your initial visit, however if additional lab work or imaging are needed to investigate your concerns further, your treatment plan will be discussed at your first follow-up once all diagnostic information has been received.

How often do I need to see a Naturopathic Doctor?

The frequency of appointments varies depending on the nature of your concerns and the course of treatment needed to address your health concerns. For medical concerns not requiring in-office treatments (ie. acupuncture) often your first follow-up will be within 2 weeks of your initial appointment, with subsequent follow-ups as needed to monitor treatment progress, which may be anywhere from monthly, to once every 3 month follow-ups, or 6 month to yearly check ups. For patients requiring in-office treatments, acupuncture is recommended to be weekly for 4-6 weeks on average, then as needed.
