Claire (she/her) enjoys working with youth and adults. She is experienced in supporting individuals navigating life and career transitions, self-esteem challenges, grief and loss, addictions, burnout, and sports performance. As a proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, she is passionate about providing affirming, inclusive care to fellow community members.
Claire aims to offer a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and sharing your story. Her approach is flexible and collaborative, grounded in a client-centred perspective and supported through anti-oppressive and neurodiversity-affirming lenses. She draws from evidence-based approaches like Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, tailored to your individual needs — exploring the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours while building strategies that support your goals and current environment.
As a former varsity swimmer at Dalhousie University, Claire has firsthand experience with the physical and mental demands that come with competitive sport. Her own experience as an athlete has given her an understanding of the pressures athletes can face, including performance expectations, confidence, burnout, injury, balancing sport with everyday life, and the emotional challenges that can come with setbacks.
Claire brings this personal experience into her work with athletes, helping them navigate the mental and emotional side of sport while supporting their overall wellbeing. She understands that being an athlete is about more than performance and enjoys helping athletes build confidence, manage stress and expectations, and find balance both in and outside of sport.
In her free time, Claire is a mentor with Girls Forward Foundation, and can be found cooking up something new, spending time with family and friends, or out exploring nature.
Whether you’re coming to therapy with a specific goal or simply looking for a space to better understand yourself, Claire would be honoured to support you and looks forward to meeting you.
